Will Garlic Help Pass a Drug Test? (YES!)

Garlic will help you to pass a urine drug test for marijuana, but you need at least 4 days for it to work.

We’ll explain how it helps and how to use it.

Before we continue, you need to understand the basics of marijuana metabolism. We explained it in detail in this article: The Ultimate Guide to Marijuana Metabolism

So here we’ll talk about it in brief.

Basics of marijuana metabolism

One of the THC pathway steps in our body is its metabolism in the liver. Here’s how it looks:

In other words, before THC is excreted from our body, it is processed by the enzymes in the liver.

CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and CYP2C19 are the main enzymes responsible for marijuana metabolism.

If we inhibit (block) these enzymes, THC metabolism will slow, and less THC will be excreted into the urine. So the concentration of THC metabolites in the urine will drop below the detectable level.

How garlic can help to pass a drug test

The University of Washington Department of Pharmaceutics research showed that garlic significantly reduced CYP2C9 activity. On days three and four, garlic lowered CYP2C9 activity to nearly undetectable levels.

That means that garlic can help you lower the CYP2C9 drug-metabolizing enzyme activity and thus lower the concentration of THC metabolites in the urine and pass a drug test.

How to use garlic to pass a drug test

Remember that garlic only helps to pass a drug test. Just taking garlic by itself won’t help.
You need to do other steps also.

On the day of the test, you need to follow the method we explained here: How To Detox THC in 24 Hours. Step By Step Guide

Taking garlic will significantly increase your chances to pass.
